COVID-19 SCREENING NOTICE
The HEAT Group has elected to require all patrons wishing to attend Miami Heat games or other Arena events to undergo Coronavirus/COVID-19 screening prior to gaining admission to the facility. BY CONTINUING BEYOND THIS POINT YOU ARE CONSENTING ON BEHALF OF YOURSELF AND YOUR MINOR CHILD(REN) TO BE SCREENED FOR COVID-19. There are two options for the required screening:
K-9 Screening – Screening patrons with dogs that have been trained to detect COVID-19 is a quick, effective and non-invasive screening process. Like dogs that are utilized for screening purposes in airports, the dogs utilized for screening will be walked by patrons prior to admission. The dogs, under the control of experienced K-9 handlers, have been trained to signal their handler if the dog detects indications of the COVID-19 virus. The dogs will not attempt to touch your person and in almost all instances there is no contact, although it is possible that an inadvertent, momentary contact could occur. The dogs will sniff around each individual generally for up to 10 seconds. Parents may hold their child(ren) and/or stand together with their child(ren).
In the instance of an alert, you and anyone accompanying you will be asked to step out of line to speak to a customer representative. You will not be able to attend the day’s game or other event, but the representative will ensure that you and anyone accompanying you are refunded the full ticket price if you purchased your tickets at the Arena box office or through Ticketmaster. All other patrons will be directed back to their original point of purchase for a refund. We will not maintain or release any information related to the alert or the reason for the refund unless so required by applicable law.
Rapid Antigen Screening Test – Patrons who may be allergic to and/or afraid of dogs have the option to forego our K-9 screening process by submitting to a rapid antigen test designed to detect indications of the virus. There is a single designated area for rapid antigen testing. The results of the rapid test should be available in less than 45 minutes. If a patron’s test is negative for COVID-19 then the patron will be granted admission to the event. If the patron’s test is positive for COVID-19 then the patron and anyone accompanying the patron will not be allowed entry into the event and refunds will be handled in accordance with the bolded language above. PLEASE NOTE, TEST RESULTS FOR RAPID ANTIGEN ARE LABORATORY TEST RESULTS AND REQUIRE REPORTING TO THE FLORIDA DEPARTMENT OF HEALTH. Such results will be maintained by the laboratory responsible for the testing and will not be maintained by The HEAT Group.
